Our Michigan low vision practice specializes in providing superior low vision eye care for patients coming from all parts of the state. We focus on helping individuals with vision problems resulting from eye conditions and diseases such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. We also offer low vision aids and devices to help our patients live an independent lifestyle despite significant vision loss related to these conditions. Some of these low vision aids include telescopes, magnifiers, prisms and specialized electronic devices.

Our eye care team believes strongly in the value of making sure that every patient feels they’re getting the best-individualized care and attention. We speak to all our patients about their concerns and answer any questions they may have about their eye care and eye health. Our team of experienced and professional low vision professionals is dedicated to helping you achieve your best possible vision and improve your quality of life.

What is Glaucoma?

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions related to high inner-eye pressure, which can cause damage to the optic nerve over time. Without timely detection and treatment, this damage can eventually result in severe vision loss and, in rare cases, blindness. There is unfortunately no cure for glaucoma, but our Michigan low vision team has the technology and training to ensure the earliest detection and treatment possible. Through comprehensive eye exams, which include testing of your intraocular pressure and evaluations of your optic nerve health, we can detect signs of glaucoma early, so we can protect your vision and keep your eyes healthy.

Beyond detection and treatment, we can also work with you to develop customized treatment plans that may include low vision aids, vision rehabilitation, and other ways to help you maintain your independence despite vision loss due to glaucoma or other eye conditions. By working closely with you, our low vision optometrists can help you achieve the best possible outcomes and manage the challenges of living with glaucoma.
