What makes a cataract inoperable?

Though surgery is common and often quite effective in treating vision loss resulting from cataracts, there are a number of factors that can sometimes rule it out as a treatment option. Pupils that are too small, systemic illnesses such as HIV/AIDS and diabetes, and density of the cataract itself. Don’t be discouraged if your cataract is inoperable. Our Louisiana low vision specialists can still do a great deal to help you make the most of your remaining vision so that you can continue living an independent and productive life every day.
