What Are Cataracts?
Cataracts are a common eye condition, especially with those above 60 years old. The proteins in our eyes begin to break down as we age and form clumps in the lens, causing a clouding affect that reduces the amount of light entering the eye. This clouding of the lens can eventually cause vision loss up to and including blindness. Though in many cases cataracts can be corrected with surgery, not all cases are operable. In these case, it’s important to speak to your low vision eye doctor to see how we can help you make the most of the vision that you still have.
