Dr. Alfaro provides personalized low vision care for patients whose sight loss is affecting the activities that matter most. Each evaluation begins by listening to your concerns, understanding your daily challenges, and identifying practical goals. Her clinical training includes extensive low vision training through the Schuldiner Low Vision Training Institute, and she is a member of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists, the American Optometric Association, and the California Optometric Association. Before becoming an optometrist, Dr. Alfaro worked for several years as an optometric technician and optician. Those experiences taught her the importance of listening to patients, understanding their individual goals, and finding practical solutions that improve daily life. Dr. Alfaro is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Whether a patient wants to read more comfortably, recognize loved ones’ faces, continue a favorite hobby, or maintain their independence, she takes the time to understand what is most important to them and develops recommendations tailored to their unique needs.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Alfaro has volunteered extensively in community vision programs serving veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, refugees, and underserved communities in both the United States and Mexico. She remains committed to making high-quality eye care accessible to everyone and is honored to help patients discover new possibilities through low vision rehabilitation.
