Low Vision Specialist in Blue Springs, , MO

Dr. Ryan Broyles
Dr. Ryan Broyles made a decision to pursue a career in optometry after his grandmother began losing vision from macular degeneration almost fifteen years ago. “Despite medical intervention, she just kept getting worse. I wanted to do something to help her”, he remembers. Dr. Broyles graduated with honors from Rockhurst University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and went on to Optometry School at Indiana University. After receiving his Doctorate in Optometry in 2007, Dr. Broyles trained extensively with renowned Low Vision Diplomate and IALVS founder, Dr. Richard Shuldiner. Now a fellow of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists and member of the American Optometric Association’s Low Vision Section, Dr. Broyles has already helped many patients in the Kansas City and St Joseph metropolitan areas in regaining their visual independence. He is board certified and licensed to provide both comprehensive and low vision eye care in Missouri and Kansas.
Dr. Broyles is a local and national member of the Knights of Columbus and an active youth soccer league coach. He and his wife reside in Kansas City, Missouri with their three kids. The family enjoys movies, camping, Sunday barbecues and neighborhood walks. Dr. Broyles and his family belong to Holy Family Catholic Parish in Kansas City.
