Dr. John W. Pond

Dr. John Pond has been practicing for over 30 years in Acton, Ontario after graduating with his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo in 1989. He has studied with renowned low vision diplomate Dr. Richard Shuldiner and is a member of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists (IALVS).

Dr. Pond prescribes specialized glasses including bioptic telescopes, microscopes, and prismatic lenses. These custom devices are designed specifically to enhance the vision of individuals with a variety of eye conditions, including macular degeneration, glaucoma, albinism, retinitis pigmentosa, and Stargardt’s. The goal of his practice is to keep people doing the things they love to do (driving, watching TV, reading, playing cards and music, etc) and staying as independent as possible.
