Benjamin graduated from The School of Optometry, Johannesburg, in 1986. He completed the Certificate of Advanced Study in ocular disease and pharmaceutical application through The New England College of Optometry in 1996. In 2001, Benjamin became a member of The College of Optometrists after qualifying through The London Refraction Hospital. He has done two low vision courses at The Lighthouse NYC, mentored by Dr Bruce Rosenthal and Dr Eleanor Faye in 1999 and 2005 respectively.
Benjamin is committed to helping visually impaired people live a full life. He is grateful to have become a member of the IALVS, and the opportunities it will bring him and his patients.

20/40 in each eye or 20/30 in better eye

Total horizontal field of 115 degrees with minimum of 70 degrees temporal field.
BIOPTIC TELESCOPE
The doctor gives a covering letter with the driver’s certificate explaining that the driver will be wearing a biopic when driving and they only meet the requirements with these special eye glasses.
